The space and resources that we have dedicated to this area are, we believe, reflective of the value and importance that we place upon this vital foundational stage of child development.
Please see the documents on this page for a progression of suggested skills based on Development Matters that lead up to the Early Learning Goals. We have also included links on this document to the Year 1 Curriculum as we felt it was very important to see where the children were going once they left Reception.
Reception children learn in our Rabbits class alongside Year 1 in the mornings, and with Year 1 and Year 2 for foundation subjects in the afternoons. See Classes and Curriculum for the full structure.
Milk in Reception
All Reception children up to their fifth birthday are entitled to a carton of milk each day at school. Once they reach their fifth birthday, parents can still order milk online for them to have each day through Cool Milk.
