What FOSS does
FOSS is a PTFA that raises money for the school to help fund curriculum enrichment. A committee is elected at the AGM each year and meets regularly to plan a programme of events, and agrees hand in hand with the school where FOSS funds are best spent, be it a new stage, a chocolate Santa hunt or a bus to the pantomime.
FOSS raises money through social events such as discos, bake sales and quiz nights, and also actively searches for grants and match funding to make the money raised go further. FOSS has funded transport for visits, classroom and playground equipment, and trips to the pantomime, CASS Sculpture Park and Petworth House.
Many FOSS parents are also DBS checked by the school and regularly help out in school, and on trips and outings.
A Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
FOSS started as a PTFA on 25 March 1992. We are proud to be a Parents, Teachers and Friends Association, so parents of children who have left the school can still be involved in the school community, and so can grandparents, aunts, uncles and neighbours.
Getting involved
Stedham has a strong school community, not just inside the school but beyond the school gates. FOSS is a team of mostly working parents who not only support the school, but also support each other. We are always open to parents, carers and family members joining our inclusive team. If you would like to help, speak to the school office.
