Inspectors found happy pupils in a small, inclusive school where everyone is known and cared for.
Ofsted, September 2026
Pupils are happy, and enjoy attending this small, inclusive school.
Safeguarding standards met.
“Pupils behave well and show respect and consideration towards others.”
“They value being part of a community where everyone is known and cared for.”
We are delighted to share our new Ofsted report, following the inspection on 29 September 2026.
It is a wonderful recognition of everyone at Stedham: our children, staff, governors and families. A huge well done to the whole team.
What the inspectors said
“Pupils are happy, and enjoy attending this small, inclusive school.”
“They value being part of a community where everyone is known and cared for.”
“The school’s vision of ‘small classes, wide horizons’ is reflected in pupils’ daily experiences.”
“Pupils, including those who face barriers to their learning or wellbeing, feel included and valued.”
“Pupils behave well and show respect and consideration towards others.”
“Pastoral support is a strength of the school.”
“Families appreciate the support that the school provides.”
Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding standards are met. They also recognised the clubs, trips, residentials, sport and brass band performances that broaden our children’s horizons.
The report also sets out next steps for us. The main one is helping pupils remember more of what they learn in some wider curriculum subjects, such as history and geography. We are already working on it.
